Welcome to Boulderdash!

Hi, and welcome to our page. After several years of searching for a hill country hideout and all but giving up on the idea, my husband and I decided that perhaps we should just buy ourselves an RV and go wherever the wind blew us. In 2016 we did just that, and we bought ourselves “The Land Yacht”, as I have so named our Heartland Cyclone. We spent 2016/17 touring around, and in Feb 2017 we decided to attend the “Cowboy Mardi Gras ” in Bandera Tx, and found a great spot to camp on Lake Medina. My dad joined us on that trip and I think we all kind of fell in love with the place! Lyn and I always dreaming, decided to look and see what sort of real estate there was around the lake. We have always argued about Lake VS river, Lyn likes the lake I like the river, anyway, after some searching on line we decided to go up in person one day and just “look”. Well.......long story made short, first place we looked at was Boulderdash, it met all our needs. Boulderdash came complete with 3 acres on the river at the mouth of lake Medina. It had a cabin already on it that was built in 2009, as well as 5 ancient RV hookups! PERFECT!!  We with the help of several on site work campers  have in the past 5 years upgraded those old hook ups and continue to make improvements. In September 2021 retired from our city jobs. Lyn and I are now here full time and continue to enjoy seeing this place thrive.
Boulderdash was named for the huge and unique topography and boulders out in front.  I think I fell in love with the place because all of my best memories evolved around either camping with my folks in the Alberta Rockies, or spending weekends at my grandparents cabin in Sylvan Lake Alberta. Boulderdash for me, affords the best of both worlds! Watching people come and enjoy the place makes both Lyn and I happy, and allows us to meet some really cool folks. What an awesome job!
The Boulderdash Skeletons: #BoulderdashBeth belonged to our first work campers Brook and Michelle had quite the sense of humor & enjoyed posing Beth around the property, Lyn and I never knew where she might be, or what she might be doing when we would come up for the weekend! When those campers left us, they left Beth behind, and every work camper since has had a Skelly at Boulderdash. We have Beth, Betty, Bob, and Phalange the dog on site...Please feel free to pose with any of them and tag us @#BoulderdashTx, or #BoulderdashBeth

Today we have a really cozy, well equipped cabin, a retro RV named "Stella", 3 full hookup RV sites, a Birdhouse studio rental above our Boulderdash barn, as well as 3 great tent sites. We  were blessed to purchase the lot to the left of us so construction has now begun on our forever house! We are hoping that Boulderdash becomes a place full of fun memories for not only ourselves but for whomever visits! It has been exciting to see our dream becoming reality, and it has been a blessing to be able to share this place with others. COME, SEE, ENJOY!
